Unable to delete deployment with status RunningTransitioning

Postby e88 » 2014-07-24 10:48:55

I added new Workers to my Techila environment using the Techila Starter Tool for Windows Azure v1.0.2. When I tried shutting down my Worker pool, I got a dialog saying:

"error: Unable to delete deployment with status RunningTransitioning"

What is the meaning of this error note?

In your message, you said that you had added some Workers. Did you have some Workers already deployed and then you added some new Workers? How long did you have all Workers running before you shut down the system? The note sounds to me like some Azure Workers would have been still starting (Transitioning) when you hit the Shut Down button.

I checked my Azure management portal, and I see that one of the Worker instances in the cloud service is still "transitioning". This is strange, it is a while since I did the deployment. I did not notice that I did not have all Workers online.

OK. Now, everything in the cloud service had turned to Running. When I hit the Shutdown Workers button again, the Techila Workers got removed without problems.

I agree with the second comment about that....
